Logan Forster

American author. He worked in a variety of jobs, including serving in the Navy and also attended the University of Colorado. He wrote a number of books about horses, and also about the Native American Indian culture. In fact this element was also prevalent in most of his horse novels, with Ponce, the hero of many of the stories, being an Apache. Forster's horse stories are set for the most part in the world of racing, with two of the horsy characters being based on real-life racehorses.

Unfortunately most of the books are rare or very rare and can be expensive.

Many thanks to Susan B. for most of the pics, without whose help this page would be a little bare!

The character of Tamarlane was apparently based in part on the real life club-footed racehorse Assault, and partly on the author's own Arab stallion.
